Lip of the Cut
Canal boats run all day long, making long journeys to deliver materials and foods to different ports along the way. Many people who work on canal boats must know when the floodwater subsides, so they don’t capsize their boat. Such things you can learn or lookup in advance, and not rely on sheer luck.
Unfortunately, one boat caught the lip of the cut as the flood water subsided and capsized. There could be a chance the boat can be saved and still work. Next time, the boat owner will have to be better prepared to avoid this happening again. On the plus side, I’m sure they’ve learned something from this experience.
