The respect for his co-star prevented him from kissing her
Pat Boone, the lead actor in April Love, was made aware that he would not be kissing his co-star out of respect for his spouse. The director, on the other hand, requested that the couple kiss at a certain scene in order to enhance the romantic ambiance. The subject of kissing in movies hadn’t even occurred to Pat Boone until he told his wife, “Well, Henry, this sounds strange, I know, but I’ve never spoken to my wife Shirley about this since kissing in the movies hasn’t come up yet.” It never occurred in the end.
He kissed the girl in his next picture, which was a dreadful thing to have happened so soon. We’ll never know whether Shirley had a problem in THAT specific picture.
