Willy Wonka and an Oompa Loompa
If the words Oompa Loompa mean nothing to you, it’s time to watch Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (or read Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, the 1964 children’s novel by Roald Dahl). If you haven’t watched the film, we’ll try to avoid any spoilers. As some of you might remember, Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory is like no other – it is a colorful, magical place, run by the eccentric Willy Wonka (portrayed in the film by Johnny Depp).
The Oompa Loompas are small, mischievous humans that live and work in the chocolate factory, as they are being paid with cocoa beans – their favorite treat. In the film, the Oompa Loompas all look alike, with green hair and their work uniform, the white jumpsuits. Thanks to their unique look and colorful characteristic, the Oompa Loompas and Willy Wonka are quite popular Halloween getups.
