Breakfast cereals actually came as a result of intensive ad campaigns by Big Cereal to force their delicious flakes, krispies, and bits down our throats. Nowadays, cereal has become a staple food for breakfast in America, and they even serve the sugar-laden concoction in schools, but that’s beside the point.
In the UK, Kellogg’s markets Cocoa Krispies as Coco Pops. In 1998, the company tried to rename it to Cocoa Krispies, but following an influx of complaints from customers, Kellogg’s in the UK backpedalled and decided to bring Coco Pops back. Apparently, a rose by any name might not smell as sweet, or at least sell as well.
