No Xs Allowed
Exxon is only used in the United States. Anywhere else in the world, if you see an Esso gas station, you should know that it’s the same thing as Exxon. The reason for renaming the brand is due to the controversy it sparked among other Standard Oil companies. We won’t go into it because, to be frank, it’s pretty boring.
Now, should this matter to you? Not really. Apparently, Exxon (which also includes Esso) is one of the least satisfying gas station chains in the world. That’s not to say that they offer pretty generous bonuses for loyal customers, but if you want service with a smile, you’re better off sticking with BP, Chevron, or Shell.
