Weird year names
Probably the most confusing thing about American schools, if you live elsewhere, is the names they use for some of the school years. Sophomore, Freshman, Junior, Senior, what on earth do they mean? To us, it seems perfectly normal, as we’ve grown up hearing the language thrown around, but logically they don’t make that much sense.
Just to clear things up for all those non-Americans reading this: a freshman is someone in their first year of high school or college, a sophomore is someone in the 2nd year, then you become a Junior, and then a Senior before you graduate. So that’s all logical then!
