Milk cartons
You’ve all spent your school years drinking your carton of milk along with your interesting school lunch. It might surprise you to know that most other countries don’t have this ubiquitous drink as part of their meal. They also think it’s slightly weird that we do, and to be honest it is a strange situation.

It might interest you to know that milk has been federally subsidized in schools in America since the 1940s due to pressure from the dairy farmers’ lobby. Even now, as more schools in America (like those around the world) are banning sodas from their lunchrooms due to excess sugar, chocolate milk is still considered a crucial part of the meal.
