#19: Women Power
Ah, the sweet imagery of nuns riding off into the sunset in a Mercedes after selling off their sacred soil and buying racehorses is so amazing it almost hurts. The convent sold for $1.4 million in 1990. If you thought this was something in the distant past, you’re very wrong. They also bought five other luxury cars, a total of eleven racehorses, a castle, and a farm. These nuns had a plan, and they executed it flawlessly.

Even better, that same month, another nun turned around and converted her convent into a luxury hotel with pink bathrooms. She had a “penchant for smoking and driving fast cars,” which the church disapproved of, so she opened a luxury hotel in retaliation for being defrocked. I can’t say I blame her. You can be godly and still enjoy a good time, right?
