This is modern-day chariot racing, right? Well, 1930s modern, but still. Apparently, some extraordinary Australians saw the movie Ben-Hur: A Tale of Christ, which included old-school chariot racing with horses. That gave them the brilliant idea to strap some homemade chariots to their motorcycles and have some fun.

While the picture is excellent, there is actual video footage of this phenomenon that you can find. It was taken at the 1936 NSW Police Carnival, where two “daredevil” cops reenacted the scene from Ben-Hur for the audience. Over 50,000 people attended that day! As cool as this is, please don’t try it at home. This could have gone very badly.
