#37: Quite the Jokester
Ben Franklin was great at pulling off hoaxes and pranks. He was sly and ambitious and not scared to get his hands a little dirty. Like the time he used an alias to get into the local newspaper. You see, his brother ran the paper and refused to print his work.

Instead of giving up, he began writing letters to the editor as a middle-aged widow named Silence Dogwood. He was 16 at the time. He garnered quite the following and even got a few marriage proposals from avid readers. His brother was pretty upset when he found out and stopped printing him, but he soon moved on to bigger and better things.
