Getting Salty
The notion of someone advertising salt kind of fascinates me. Like most people, I buy salt for three reasons: to put in my food, to put in my water softener, and to sprinkle on my driveway when it’s icy. (Yes, I realized that those are three different sorts of salt products.)
The point is, I don’t think that I or anyone else has ever seen a billboard for salt and thought, “Hey, I should head to the store and get myself some of that great salt.” And I don’t know if increasing brand association with Morton’s is that important; I don’t think there’s a quality difference from one type of salt to the next, so I’m pretty sure we all just buy what’s cheapest.
