It’s Not You, It’s the Plant
Why are houseplants so ridiculously difficult to keep alive? I do not understand it. In the wild, a plant will tenaciously cling to life in a crack in the sidewalk or in a tiny depression full of loose gravel on the side of a mighty cliff face, or inside a discarded piece of trash in the middle of a field somewhere.
But in your house, a plant will die for the flimsiest of reasons or no reason at all. Too little water? Dead. Too much water? Also dead. Too much sun? Too little sun? Dead. It doesn’t like the soil? It doesn’t like the vibes in your apartment? You sneezed near it once? Dead dead, dead. Why are indoor plants such wimps? It’s time to stop blaming ourselves and start blaming the plants.
