A Big To-Do
I have, as I imagine many of us do, a complicated relationship with to-do lists. I understand why people like them. I see how they could be useful if you could consistently get yourself to actually fill them out and then check them off. Imagine knowing that the things you need to do will get done because you’re the type of person who can’t leave things unchecked on a to-do list.
Unfortunately, I’m not one of those people. Sometimes I’m great at it, and I will actually fill out checklists and mark them off for a period of time as long as 1.5 weeks. And then I start ignoring them, because I’m tired and I want to do other stuff, and before long, they’re just hanging on the wall, making me feel guilty about all the things I haven’t done.
