In his tenure as a mall Santa, one encounter stood out remarkably for our protagonist that he’ll forever cherish. Interestingly, it had nothing to do with a child’s extravagant Christmas wish. The unforgettable incident involved a young couple of Indian descent and their newly born child. On one occasion, they approached the mall Santa with an unusual request – they wanted him to bestow a blessing on their infant, right amid the bustling shopping complex.
Our narrator was taken aback, considering his role as a mere part-time freelancer in a suburban shopping center. However, he committed to the task. He deduced that the pair had perhaps taken the ‘saint’ in ‘Old Saint Nick’ a tad too seriously. Regardless of this man’s lack of qualifications to confer blessings on anyone or anything, it certainly was an unparalleled encounter.
