Matthew McConaughey and the McConaissance for ‘Dallas Buyers Club’
The term “McConaissance” was coined by actor and director Matthew McConaughey, who is often described as inventive. This refers to his career rebirth. He played Ron Woodroof in the biographical film ‘Dallas Buyers Club,’ which chronicles the life of a Texas electrician and occasional rodeo cowboy who got HIV. Woodroof fought for access to AZT for people with AIDS throughout the 1980s.
To seem like an AIDS patient, McConaughey lost nearly 50 pounds with the aid of a dietician. He said he felt more energetic and needed far fewer hours of rest each night!
