We never saw what happened to Il-nam
Game of Thrones has taught us that a character should be assumed alive unless there is hard evidence to the contrary. However, during episode 6 of Squid Game, most viewers forgot about that rule due to their emotional devastation.
In the sequence in which Il-nam is “eliminated,” we never see what happens to him. The camera is directed at Gi-hun’s face as she hears the shot, yet no blood and no body had hit the ground.
