Bend It Like a Brazilian
You’re probably familiar with the film Bend It Like Beckham, in which fictional soccer player Jess Robinson is given the ability to bend a ball’s course by bending her own. In this case, rather than showing a player’s capacity to curve the trajectory of a ball, it depicts a country’s capacity to bend legislation.
In Brazil, a mayor banned bar owners from putting tables on the sidewalk, so they came up with a solution: they placed their tables on the back of a truck. Technically! – They’re not technically in violation of the legislation.
