For Olympians, hard work is a bit of an understatement. Their entire purpose in life is to challenge the limits of what they can do and what they can become, even though their personal bests go far beyond normal human limits. Instead of feeling envious of everything they’ve achieved, we’ll point out some of the weird things professional athletes have done to stay on be on top of their game.
Looks Like Beef Jerky
Janez Brajkovic is a Slovenian racing cyclist and under-23 Time Trial champion. He stands 1.75 meters tall and weighs 60 kg, and what you’re feasting your eyes on right now is his left calf. The picture was taken just before attending his first race after a one-year suspension following a positive anti-dope test.
We are talking about a long-time athlete with a severe eating disorder and an ongoing fight with bulimia. Janez often speaks about his and his teammates’ experiences, hoping to raise awareness about the condition. Let’s pray that Janez achieves his two ultimate goals in life: getting rid of bulimia once and for all and turning it into a living piece of jerky.
