Greatness Knows Greatness
Ask Michael Jordan whether or not he knew Kobe Bryant was going to be a superstar, and he’d tell you that he 1,000,000% knew. The skinny kid from Philly would go on to become a five-time NBA champion and 18-time All-Star selection.
But in Pelé’s case, he could spot greatness in a totally different sport. Here, you see an image of arguably the greatest soccer player to ever live, staring in admiration at foil fencer Miles Chamley-Watson. Even though Miles “only” won a single bronze medal in his Olympic career (he only participated in the 2016 Games in Rio), Pelé knew that he was destined for greatness. Today, Miles has 16 gold medals from international competitions to his name.
