There Was Almost No Queen Charlotte
One of the most significant differences between the Bridgerton books by Julia Quinn and the Netflix show is that the character of Queen Charlotte is not present in any of the books. Considering how female-centric the series is, the creator Chris Van Dusen realized that the queen would be a perfect addition to the show.
It was a great way to marry history and fantasy to make the series all the more exciting for its viewers. In fact, even Quinn thought this was a great touch and admitted to wishing that she had done the same. She also loved the way the Bridgerton team handled the addition and brought her character to life.
