Each Family Has Their Own Colors
In case you hadn’t noticed, each high society family had its own colors, and with good reason. The Bridgertons were always in subtle pastel hues of blues and pinks, while the Featheringtons wore brighter colors like green, orange, and yellow. Even their patterns were bolder and according to designer Ellen Mirojnick, this was deliberate.
Since the Bridgertons were the most prominent family of the social season, their palette was powdery and sophisticated. As for the Featheringtons, the intent was to show that they’re new money and since Portia wanted her daughters to be married off, she wanted them to be noticed as much as possible. What better way to do that than to adorn them with in-your-face clothes?
