The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part – $133 million
It’s not uncommon for sequels to underperform compared to their prequels. Case in point, The Lego Movie 2. The first Lego Movie received praise for its original story and for being a breath of fresh air during a time of lazy animation. So, when the sequel five years later, the audience was more than hopeful for some good watchin’.
Sadly, the audience didn’t exactly get what they were expecting. Sure, the movie was still good, but it was nowhere as unique as its predecessor. Warner Bros lost around $133 million after calculating the $192.3 million it made at the box office. The original movie had set a pretty high standard that would be nearly impossible to top.
