50+ of the Highest-Budgeted Films that Flopped at the Box Office

Superhero movies have pretty much flooded theaters across the world and for a very good reason. They make tons of money. At least, that’s probably the Marvel thought when they decided to give Dark Phoenix her own movie in 2019. But that decision wound up costing them over $133 million.

Starring the original actors from the X-Men film franchise, it seemed that nothing could go wrong. However, according to critics, the film felt like an afterthought and the script was rushed together. There were awesome action scenes, but that’s pretty much the only positive thing anybody had to say. Plus, it didn’t help when Raven suggested they rename the group X-Women. Ugh.
