Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas – $125 million
In 2003, the world got to see the animated film Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas. In general, animated movies test well with audiences, so DreamWorks had no reservations at making the best dang animated movie of all time. Their hired Brad Pitt, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Michelle Pfeifer to lend their voices to the movie, but even these A-listers couldn’t save it from utter failure.
Some liked the movie, but an overwhelming number of reviews tore the film to shreds. In the end, Sinbad became a $125 million expense for DreamWorks. To be fair, it was up against Finding Nemo and Curse of the Black Pearl at the time of its release.
