The Great Wall – $75 million
The Great Wall is not a historical documentary about the building of the Great Wall of China. It featured none other than Matt Damon (you’ll see him several times on this list) who helped the Chinese emperor fight off giant monsters. It sounds like a ridiculous premise because it is. Seriously, giant monsters?
In spite of this, the movie did pretty well theatrically. They made a total of roughly $335 million from ticket sales against a $150 million production budget, but after taking promotional fees into account, the studio ended up losing over $75 million. On top of that, it received a horrible 35% approval rating on RT.
