Setting a bad example
One of the first things a marriage counselor will tell you is to never argue in front of your kids. You don’t know what kind of long-lasting psychological damage you can do to a toddler if you fight in front of them, even if they don’t understand what’s going on.
One day, her husband came home in a bad mood and began yelling at her while she was bouncing their kid on her knee. She decided right then and there that she had to set a better example for her 3-year-old son if her husband wasn’t going to. Her kid didn’t need a father figure who’d teach him that it’s okay to talk to women that way.
