It is likely that you have rented a home at one point or another, or you may even still be renting right now. Most people choose to rent because it allows you to have a stable place to live for a year, but there is no commitment to stay in that neighborhood, state, or even country as your lease will need to be renewed in 12 months. If your experience was not positive, you have no obligation to renew your lease.

The downside of renting? Landlords. They are bound by local regulations but they also have a lot of leeways to determine the rules of the property that you are required to live by. They can control temperatures, ban smoking and pets, and chase you for the rent if you don’t pay on time. Some landlords leave you alone while others are nightmares. You may be able to relate to some of these issues, or you’ll be thankful for your landlord after reading these examples.
