Like many teenagers, Jessie James Decker struggled with a few insecurities in high school. And like most teenagers, Decker was very shy when it came to her braces and even kept her mouth closed while smiling in pictures. Decker found a way to shine and hide behind her insecurities through the happiness she experienced by cheerleading.

The country-pop singer’s cheerleading days are long behind her. She was discovered by Big Yellow Dog music at 17 years old and the record label helped Decker create her debut album, Jessie James in 2009. She went on to star in her own reality show alongside her husband and NFL player Eric Decker, called Eric & Jessie, which ran on E! from 2013 to 2017.
