Kathie Lee Gifford
Kathie Lee Gifford’s school experience wasn’t what anyone would call traditional. At just four years old, she and her family flew across the Atlantic from Paris to Bowie, Maryland. As a teen, Kathie made her high school’s cheerleading squad, and she’d eventually go on to win Maryland’s Junior Miss Pageant. That was what set her course for a fruitful career in front of the camera.
After studying drama and music at Oral Roberts University, she decided to see what sort of TV roles she’d get in Hollywood. In 1985, she became the new co-host of The Morning Show, which eventually became Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee.
