Diane Sawyer
Most people know Diane Sawyer as a news anchor for ABC World News tonight and Primetime newsmagazine. However, long before she plastered a serious expression on her face while delivering the news, she was nothing but smiles and cheers as she rooted on the Seneca High School sports teams.
After graduating, she participated in America’s Junior Miss Pageant in 1963 and took home the tiara and sash. She started her newscasting as a weather forecaster in Louisville. She deemed it too boring and was ultimately given more airtime. Her sign-off at the end of every nightly broadcast was “I’ll see you right back here tomorrow night.”
