The Closer You Look, The Stranger They Are

November 24, 2020 by Elizabeth Grillo

Not The Most Appropriate Toy

People are the most easily influenced as children. It’s important at this age to teach them that their bodies are temples and that substances like drugs and alcohol should be avoided. So is it really a good idea to advertise beer as a shopping option on a toy cash register made for kids to play with?

Imagine little Sally pretending to ring up little Jenny’s groceries and you heard they included apples, butter, fish, and beer! This toy shouldn’t be teaching kids that beer is an ordinary grocery staple. There are only eight items. The manufacturer couldn’t think of any other product? We hope the parents who bought this for their kids didn’t notice.
