Don’t Overcook Your Cookies
Sometimes, the most common mistakes are the ones easily avoided. When it comes to baking (and many things in life), time is of the essence. The timing mentioned in the recipe has a reason. Leave your cookies in too long, and you get hard bricks, too short and you have an undercooked mess.
The most common mistake home bakers make is leaving the cookies in the oven too long, even after the oven shuts off. Just because the oven cuts off with the timer doesn’t mean that the heat will dissipate immediately. Leaving your cookies inside will allow them to keep cooking and eventually burn.
