Common Baking Mistakes That Can Be Easily Avoided

March 24, 2010 by Molly Reynolds

De-molding A Warm Cake Is a Mistake

We are back to cakes, and if you don’t know by now, it is one of the hardest items on our list to perfect. As a rule, you shouldn’t cut any dessert while they are still hot, and when it comes to cakes, you need to leave them alone completely. Of course, you can eat them, but leave pan removal for when it has cooled down.

It can be tempting to flip your pan over the minute your cake is out of the oven, but you need to wait until it cools down. For cakes and brownies allow them to cool down to room temperature before you try to take them from their mold. Otherwise, you will end up with a plate of delicious crumbs.
