Temprature Matters
If you’re baking a dish that calls for ingredients to be at a certain temperature, it is important to pay attention. Be it very cold, room temperature, or boiling, certain temperatures are needed to start specific reactions in the kitchen. For example, most dairy products will start to trap air at room temperature, and depending on what you’re making, this can be good or bad.
Making sure that your ingredients are at the right temperature in the instructions will ensure that your baked good comes out fluffy, flaky, or even perfectly flat if that is the goal. Failure to heed the temperature instructions is one of the most common baking mistakes made in home kitchens.
