That’s a Small Computer
The thing about technology and computers is that you can go as big or as small as you’d like. How small you ask? Presenting the world’s tiniest computer that is smaller than a grain of rice! Created by researchers at the University of Michigan, this 1×1 mm device beats their previous micro-computer, the Michigan Micro Mote that measured 2x2x4 mm.
The device detects changes in temperature in things like human cells which can be used to study tumors and cancers. It can also monitor oil reservoirs, help study tiny snails, and conduct visual and audio surveillance. What an incredible achievement.
