Gen-Z kids grew up texting. The first swipe-text system came out in 2002, and Millenials loved it so much that it became a staple of phones everywhere. By the time those early Gen-Z were old enough to have a telephone, T9 was a thing of the past.
Long-form texting is something only Gen-X and Millennials do, so it makes sense that Gen-Z emails would look like a texting format since they grew up with that form of communication. Honestly, I’m surprised they even send emails at all. There are tons of work platforms, like Wire and Slack, that have become the norm.
