#12: It’s a Different World
I can’t fault Gen-Z for this one. They’ve been raised this way. Somehow, in the past two decades, it became terrible parenting if you let your kids wander off in the afternoon without knowing exactly where they were at all times. We also don’t have villages anymore, and many Millennial and Gen-X parents are just doing their best to keep their kids alive.
I’m not going to lie; I love that my kids text me with everything. We have epic text conversations about so many different things. Do I wish they’d wander the neighborhood a bit more often? I sure do. Still, I’d have a slight panic attack if they went off and I didn’t know what they were doing! What I’m saying is it’s our fault. Not theirs.
