Barnyard Miracle
Are you ready for your vocab word of the day? Today’s word is: polymelia. It’s the fancy medical term for a genetic anomaly that results in the growth of extra limbs like we see on this cow. It’s so rare in cows that less than four in every 100,000 are affected. You’re more likely to see a cow born without a tail than an extra leg.
We hate to burst your bubble, but our farmland friend here isn’t one of those rare unicorns. This is, however, a neat family photo that shows off how similar parent and child can be with the baby calf sporting the same markings as his mom, which line up perfectly when the two stand side by side.
