#24: Herbs and spices are amazing!
When you first start cooking, you’re probably making basic spaghetti and macaroni and cheese from a box. That’s okay! We all start somewhere. The thing is, with a few extra ingredients, even macaroni can seem gourmet! Fresh herbs are the best way to add depth and flavor to a dish, and they’re easy to grow at home.

As I mentioned before, basil is my go-to for many dishes, but cilantro, oregano, rosemary, and thyme are all easy to acquire and can take your cooking to the next level. If you can’t keep fresh herbs, it’s okay to use dried ones! Just remember that one full tablespoon of fresh herbs is equal to a single teaspoon of dried herbs.
