#27: Get the most out of your dry spices!
This is a simple trick, and it can make a huge difference. By taking those dried spices out of the container and roasting them a bit before adding them to your recipe, you’re getting more bang for your buck out of each teaspoon or dash! You can also purchase partially dehydrated herbs if keeping fresh on hand isn’t possible.

As for BBQ sauce, they’re correct. You want to marinate your meat and stay away from sugars until the end. Sugar hardens at high temperatures and can ruin a good piece of meat if you add it too early. Honey, however, can make an excellent sugar substitute and goos up nicely if you’re cooking small meat in the oven.
