#37: Know your oils
Different oils are for different things. While this poster talks specifically about olive oil, there are many different oils on the markets, and they all have different smoke temperatures. The smoke temperature of an oil refers to the point at which it burns. When frying, you’ll want an oil that has a high smoke temperature!

Grapeseed, avocado, canola, sunflower, and peanut oil all have high temperatures. They also have slightly different tastes, so don’t be scared to try them out and determine which one you like best! I prefer avocado oil for cooking because it’s easy to find and relatively inexpensive compared to its counterparts, and canola for frying because you want something that can fry for an hour or more without burning if you’re making big batches.
