#7: That knife is a little dull…
A dull knife can make cooking 100% harder. Sawing through veggies and meats doubles the prep time and often crushes your ingredients. By taking good care of your knives, you won’t have to worry! Blades are expensive, but with a little proper TLC, you can keep them going for years.
Leaving knives in the sink can rust them, and washing them in the dishwasher dulls the sharp edge. Get in the habit of quickly rinsing them and wiping them down, and invest in a good sharpener. I sharpen my knives about once a week! Nervous about using them? Take a class! Different knives are perfect for different things. You won’t want to use a vegetable chopper to filet salmon!
