Severe Infestations
The bear’s recovery was slow. Not only were they severely underweight and malnourished, but they were positively riddled with hookworms! The bears received round the clock care, and as the days went by, they slowly started regaining their strength.
And Thomas was with them every step of the way! The staff at the clinic would later say that it was difficult to tell if Thomas or the bears were more excited by his visits! The three of them had developed a tight bond. But soon, everyone, including Thomas and the bears, would face another dilemma.
