Keeping It Real
People follow a social script for all of the most common interactions we have, and the first line we feed our kids after “hi” is “thank you” for when they receive something. As honest and rawly unfiltered as they can be, they often say whatever comes to mind when prompted for gratitude.
This kiddo must have been waiting what felt like an eternity for his popsicle. It was probably more like five minutes, but that’s forever and a half in kid time when you know there’s a popsicle coming your way, so we know they meant it when they let that “finally” slip before a “thank you.”
