Marketing Halloween
Commercialized holidays give stores an excuse to over decorate, launch holiday-related products, and overcharge for them. That’s why holidays like Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and Halloween exist in between the more significant and religious holidays. To sell. And places like supermarkets favor Halloween in particular because of trick-or-treating.
It’s very obvious from this picture that October is coming to an end and Halloween is just around the corner. The supermarket hired a graphic artist to design these Halloween-themed posters of a werewolf marketing candy and a creepy skull marketing the holiday. This is the best time of year for supermarkets to make money on candy sales, and this is a great way to market that.
