For Monty Python Fans
Only fans of the British comedy troupe Monty Python will understand this. The Knight in the 1975 movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail chanted “Ni!” and forbade King Arthur and his people from passing through the forest without bringing him a shrubbery. It looks like this is a comical sign made to sell Christmas trees.
However, if that’s the case, then this is highly inappropriate because Monty Python was eventually banned in 1979 for its controversial religious satirical themes. They were accused of blasphemy and protest from religious groups began to arise. We’re not sure if we’re correct but we don’t believe this had any strong effect on anyone who needed to buy a Christmas tree.
