Bringing home a new sibling can be a confusing and stressful time for small kids who are used to being the only child and soaking up every ounce of their parents’ attention. It’s not uncommon for the waterworks to flood the room during their first meeting, although many are happy to take on the title of big sibling.

This little girl ditched the dream of being a big sister and went for monster slayer instead, confusing her new baby brother for something that might wind up lurking under her bed. Oh, how quickly they forget that they too were once squirmy, wrinkly, potato-headed babies that only loosely resembled the mini-people they’d become.
