If your landlord begins sending you personal text messages, such as the one below, you need to be on alert; that simply isn’t normal. If those texts ever contain heart emojis, references to dreaming about you, or gifs of adorable children, it is way past time to move the heck out of there.

There is literally no scenario where this is acceptable. Your landlord should know better that this is a professional relationship and nothing more.
