The sad truth is that landlords hold a lot of power over tenants; it’s their property, and they can essentially decide who they want as tenants. They can discriminate against men, women, people of color, or members of the LGBT+ community, and there are no laws protecting tenants from discrimination.

One woman took to Twitter to share her frustration after she didn’t get a potential apartment because the landlord “didn’t feel comfortable” renting to a single mother. This is so unfair, we feel like screaming. And yet, there’s really nothing she can do about it. The only bright side we can see here is that she dodged a bullet with this landlord – he sounds like a nasty person, and you don’t want to deal with this kind of people.
