55 Funny Lies Parents Have Told Their Children That They Believed for a Long Time

September 4, 2015 by Veronica Phillips

Being a parent has got to be one of the hardest jobs in the universe. Not only are you responsible for another human life but you also have to deal with their moods, tantrums, and bad behavior. Of course, the love you get in return is incomparable but sometimes parents have to resort to telling a white lie or two to keep their sanity intact. Check out these hilarious lies that their kids actually believed for a long time!

A Lie to Stop Lying

One of the biggest and most important qualities that all parents try to instill in their children is that of honesty. This mother came up with a unique way of catching her daughter in a lie. She told her that every time she fibbed, a red spot would appear on the middle of her forehead.

After that, whenever the kid lied, she would instinctively put her hand on her forehead and get caught. Wow, whoever thought a lie would be this effective in keeping your children from lying. Sure, it may sound a tad hypocritical but as long as it works, we think it’s just fine.
